In our specialized first aid courses, we show you how quick and competent assistance can save lives. The most important immediate measures are easy to learn and can be performed in an emergency with just your hands. The important thing ist that you (try) to stay calm in an emergency (situation)!
First Aid for Educators: Specialized Training for Educational Institutions
We offer specialized first aid training sessions for educators in educational and childcare facilities. These courses consist of 9 teaching units and focus on children’s emergencies in accordance with the German Social Accident Insurance (BG) regulation DGUV 1. Daycare providers and educators are required to complete this training every two years, with costs covered by the Saxony Accident Insurance Fund (Unfallkasse Sachsen).
Important Information on Cost Coverage
For kindergartens, day care and after-school care centers, only the Saxony Accident Insurance Fund (Unfallkasse Sachsen - UKS) is responsible now. Since August 1, 2019, the UKS no longer covers the costs for all educators, (but) only for one educator per group and one per facility. In open concept settings, the calculation is: number of children divided by 15, plus one educator per facility. We are happy to provide a customized quote for additional educators.
Legal Requirements
According to § 26 Abs. 1 Nr. 2.c of DGUV Regulation 1, kindergarten/day care management and operators must ensure that at least one first aider is available per group in childcare facilities.
